Gilbert Days 2026

General Information

Gilbert Days will be at the Fire Station/Community Center in the morning then on Main Street for the afternoon and evening activities! The date has been selected to accommodate construction, availability, and to better align with the district calendar so more of our community can attend and participate!

All activities are free entry and catered for the entire family to enjoy!

Food and beverages will be served throughout the day!

  • Hosted by the GHS Wrestling teams! More info coming soon!

  • Starting at 9am watch real firefighters and local heroes compete against each other in a real-life firefighter water wars challenge!

  • Join us for a fun round of Bingo in the community center of the Fire Station from 11:00am to 1:00pm!

  • The pickleball tournament will be held at Lion’s Park! Registration check in will start at 10:00am! This is a free entry event! The tournament layout and rules are listed on the entry form below! Pre-registration is required to participate!

  • Staring at 2:00pm enjoy a variety of inflatables, face painting, balloon animals, temporary and glitter tattoos, henna tattoos, yard games, and more to come!

  • Starting at 2:00pm enjoy a variety of Arts & Crafts!

  • Come see a variety of tractors both vintage and modern models! Kids join in for the pedal tractor pull!

  • The Thirsty Pig will service all your beverage needs including non-alcoholic beverages, wine, beer, seltzers, ciders, and a full bar!

  • Enjoy a delicious variety of food!

    The Outside Scoop, Kona Ice, Dirty Fuel Iowa, & The Stuff That Fluffs will also be on Main Street for those with a sweet tooth!

  • Starting around 5:00pm enjoy the Danny Grause Band!

  • The Gilbert Historical Society is inviting the Community to a free family friendly History Lesson.

    Our “History teacher” will be Dave Baker, Historian, Author, Entertainer.

    Dave is the writer on his blog The 29th State and manager of the FaceBook  page of the same name.

    Dave has researched ALL of the cities of the 33 Counties that make-up up the middle third of the state and has written a book (More Than Waypoints) of their stories.

    In his spare time he has found time to appear in any town who invites him to tell their town history in a way that jogs memories for older people and intrigues young people as they put a face on the name of the street they have been driving on on their way to school.

    The Historical Society is excited to provide this program for the Community of Gilbert and its School District and Alumni!
